The Driving Force takes anyone who has cancer and is registered with a GP in Bonnybridge, Denny or Banknock to hospital appointments for FREE.

Drivers

Drivers can volunteer to give as much time as they wish. They use their own insurance and do not need to pay higher premiums. All expenses are reimbursed and they are paid a mileage allowance. Drivers tell the coordinators the days they are free, some only do mornings or afternoons.

We provide any training a driver wishes to have. All our drivers are provided with a full set of guidelines as to how our service works. All drivers go out with an existing driver and patient in order to ‘learn the ropes’ before they start to drive for us.

We try to have the right number of drivers, if we have too many, people feel they don’t get to drive often enough. If this is the case we put people on a waiting list and contact them when we have a vacancy.
